What is the family learning requirement?

Oorah gives $1,250 per child for each parent that learns with a study partner by phone for 30 minutes a week ($2,500 for both parents).

How is the money applied to tuition?

Depending on the amount earned, families will receive a $100/ $225/$350 tuition discount per month, on the following month’s invoice (on a 10 month billing cycle).

Can a family receive Oorah for multiple children?

Yes. There are no additional learning hours required per child.

How many years can a family receive Oorah funding?

Funding duration and renewal depend on the provider’s current requirements. Contact our scholarship coordinator for current guidance.

Can a family receive both Oorah and Chinuch Yehudi?

Yes. A family can receive up to $3,500 from Oorah and another $1,000 from Chinuch Yehudi–totaling a $4,500 tuition discount.

What happens if a family does not fulfill their learning commitments?

For the first year, the student loses the learning-based part of the scholarship, and the parent is liable for the corresponding loss of tuition.

Going forward, if neither parent participates in learning, the Oorah scholarship will not be eligible for renewal in future years.

How do you apply?

First you complete a preliminary questionnaire before moving forward to the application.

You must renew yearly to keep your scholarship.
